The side panels of this exceptional loudspeaker present an ultra-sophisticated and modern mirror-effect, in tribute to the gracious beauty of haematite. This high-shine factor brings to Scala 40th a very beautiful presence in living spaces. In addition, it’s the perfect foil to the matte structured Graphite Black finish on the front panel, a first for a Focal Utopia loudspeaker. As well as its incredible musical sounding, optimum size and easy installation, Scala 40th is a concentrate of elegance.
French expertise by Focal
Scala 40th is a 100% Made in France high-fidelity loudspeaker. Whilst the speaker drivers are handmade in Focal’s acoustics workshop in La Talaudière, near Saint-Étienne, the wooden cabinet and its Black Silver finish are entrusted to the cabinet-makers in the FEB ( Focal Ébénisterie Bourgogne ) workshop. The mirror-effect is achieved by hand spraying silver nitrate, thanks to spraying machines: all of these elements are true markers of the super high quality and absolute authenticity of every piece.
To highlight the magnitude of our 40-year celebrations as well as this incredible finish that requires such painstaking skill to create, only four pairs will be available for sale. Four decades of passion, four pairs of Scala 40th!

Scala 40th delivers the same remarkable sound performance as Scala Utopia Evo. Integrating Focal innovations such as the NIC ( Neutral Inductance Circuit ) motor and the TMD ( Tuned Mass Damper ) surround, this loudspeaker can be amplified by separating the bass and mid-range/treble registers. The type of sound can be thereby refine, depending on the tone they are looking for and the power they desire. The best components are also included: cables manufactured in France, denser acoustic material inside the subwoofer, double terminal board, separate crossovers...
